$ 89.00 – $ 101.00
Handcrafted hanger from oak wood and iron metal hooks that resembles in form a pair of Swans (Cygnus). Available in two options, a simple version for hanging clothes and one with a lower bar for folded clothes and with two shoulder handcrafted notches for various garments with straps. The double “toe” hook complicates the hanging of that object, and vice versa, for example in a closet just for those who are unaware of the puzzle solution. Their use is aimed at a hotel room, an office desk or public spaces where the use of hangers is desirable with a more stable and seemingly permanent solution. These hangers under certain conditions prevent people from removing them from a rail as they remained in a puzzling way fixed on them.
|Dimensions||44.4 x 4.3 x 25.3 cm|
The process of hanging is a central idea of a whole family of three figures: Captain, Cygnus & Pintail. This family of hangers makes hooking and unhooking an interesting challenge. The two hooks face each other, leaving the space between for a pole to pass through. The metallic hooks are the main feature of this design and are carved by laser. Facing each other they are bonded by two pieces of wood. This unity (fusion) of four pieces; two of wood and two of metal, resembles two opposing hangers which are fused together; two hangers sitting in different directions; defying you to solve the mystery of how to hook and unhook them.
Swans are closely related to geese and ducks and are the largest flying birds. Most of them belong to the genus Cygnus (ancient Greek κύκνος), have long neck, proportionately heavy body, long legs and fly slowly with the distinct feature of the long length of their neck. When they are migrating they are flying in diagonal formation or formation of “V” at high altitude. Most important, no other water bird approaches their speed of moving in water or air. Finally, they feed on aquatic plants floundering surface in shallow waters rather than diving, also male and female are similar in appearance.
